Cigar Box Guitar #109

Hi folks,

I recently completed cigar box guitar #109. This one is a three string cigar box guitar, made for a good friend of mine.

The neck for this guitar was cut from an old (30+ year old) oak beam. I was able to get two neck blanks out of this piece, and the second piece will be used for a similar build (to come in the future).

It was fretted on a 25-1/2″ scale length, and the neck/fingerboard was finished with tung oil (most of the coats were applied with 1000 grit wet-dry sandpaper for a nice smooth finish).

This pickup was wound by Harry at Crocbite Guitars. Harry sent me a couple of his pickups to try out, and I really like them. I have attached a video demo below of the guitar, which can give you an idea of how the guitar (and the pickup) sounds.

Thanks for stopping by,
Casey Baron
